Designing for Adidas

Adidas NMD

The pursuit of this project was to carry out a deep analysis and research of one of the most recognized sportswear brands (Adidas) and afterwards, create 4 designs focused on one of the main collections the brand has. The challenge was to design unique and innovative pieces but at the same time, keep the essence of the brand visible, using similar colours, fabrics, shapes... in order to feel homogenic inside the collection and maintain the same consumer archetype.

The briefing did also include adding to the designs some details made by 3D technologies, in order to express the urge of new ways to create fabrics and materials and also give a more futuristic and progressive look.

The four final proposals for this collection are based on the trend mentioned above, keeping a fairly similar palette of colors, with cold gray, blue skies, remembering the glacier landscape, but with some neutral, ocher and soft green tones for not losing the essence of the selected NMD collection.

A new addition to these pieces are small details made with 3D printing on fabric. Often small reinvented logos, or even some performing the positional stamping function.

With regard to the silhouette, it has remained relaxed, broad, sporty and urban, used in the NMD collection and the Frost Color Sporty trend.

Finally, in relation to fabrics we should mention the predominance of fabrics with a high polyester composition and elastane to make the performance more comfortable. Therefore nylon fabrics are abundant or extracted from recycled plastics. Also some knitted garment such as sweatshirts, made with plush plush or leggings, with lycra.
